Many groups throughout the St. Croix Valley have heard about our project and want to be part of it.  Typically, these are businesses, libraries, or conservation organizations who recognize the importance of advocacy for the river, and share enthusiasm for the images, essays and music.  They know the river is important to their members and/or customers.   Here are some ways these groups can help:

1. Order books in quantity, as gifts to long-standing or substantial new members or customers.  For example, marinas up and down the valley represent the river to their customers.   Shimmering Blue Line can be a business gift that strengthens the bond between the marina and the people who enjoy a boat on the St. Croix.
2. Bring the book to the attention of your customers by mentioning it in your newsletter, featuring it in your reception area, and/or selling it.
3. Provide a link from your website to ours.
4. Sponsor a book-signing.  For example, we have three events scheduled for libraries in Washington County, Minnesota, for October and November, where we will be displaying some of the paintings, reading from the essays, and performing some of the music live.
5. If you already have a major event planned, consider having copies of the book available for sale, and consider bringing in a live performance of the music of the Shimmering Blue Line!
6. Spread the word!  Let your friends know about the project and invite them to participate by buying a book!
